LTD ED. KESTREL HS4000 LOCO >20% off MRP

£95.90

This prototype locomotive is offered with over 20% discount on MRP.

'KESTREL' was a private venture by Brush, a division of Hawker Siddeley, and upon completion in 1967 was the worlds most powerful Sulzer loco producing 4000hp. By mid 1969 its bogies were exchanged and the weight reduction enabled the loco to undertake passenger duties between Kings Cross & Newcastle. 'KESTREL' was withdrawn from service and shipped to Russia to attend an exhibition in July 1971. She was never to return, ending her days as a concrete filled test bed, eventually being scrapped in the early 1990's.

Note: if converting to DCC some issues are known by HELJAN, notably the lights will not work. Loco recommended for conventional systems or buyer to investigate internet for soloution to DCC issue. Refund will not be given if any problems encountered after changing to DCC set up. Loco is test run before despatch.
