MODELLING POT LUCK:- Cars, Bikes, Sci-fi, Figures and the odd surprise.
03 Sept 10. The youngsters of Salisbury have rallied to my invitation to display their model making skills with a handful of models on display in the shop window. It is good to see that despite the fun offered by X Boxes and Playstations the young still enjoy putting other skills to use. I learnt this week that Bburago, the maker of metal car kits stocked by SMC is no longer an Italian firm. That does explain the delay in delivery as the kits are now produced in China. The good news is a shipment is expected again before October. A small number of 1/18 kits will join the 1/24 range in store. Many of you will know I enjoy Sci-fi modelling along with the more traditional subjects, well tonight's picture is in memory of a scratch converted Air defence vehicle based on the tanks from Star Wars Episode 1 "The Phantom Menace". I dropped it!

21 July 2010. In store are a number of Ma.k Kits in 1/20 scale. They have been imported from Japan via America so are relativley rare. A google search of SF3D or Ma.K will reveal the back story on these unique Sci-fi items. As they were difficult to obtain ( I imported them myself rather than via a wholesaler) they are only available in store.

07 JULY 2010. It has been brought to my attention that a number of computers running on newer windows systems are warning that this site security certificates are not safe. While I can assure you of this site safe status, I will investigate getting the certifcate upgraded and allow you to decide if you wish to register with us to shop.
We use the PROTEX system for transaction which is safe and very secure. It abides by rules set down to protect customers and means I never have sight of your card details and they are not stored on any data base linked to Salisbury Model Centre.
If you do have concerns then feel free to phone and place an order with our staff. Thank you.
14 June 10. I do get to indulge myself when writing the Blog pages attached to Salisbury Model centre's web site, here is one example as I found this picture while updating the railway pages, the photo still in my camera's memory. Taken almost exactly a year ago when thoughts of taking on a model shop were still maturing. Sangin 2009. While its not model related I hope you still find it of interest, you should also note the facial hair has not been kept! All the best, Dec.

06 June 10. I attended the Salisbury IPMS show on Saturday 5th and must congratulate Don Bartlett on organising such a good event. I managed to have a look around and did see some new models on display which is refreshing. Often the same models appear at show after show so it was nice to see. Having a number of SIG's in attendance must have helped. ( SIG's = Special interest Groups of the IPMS). This link has further photos from the Salisbury IPMS Blog. The competition area was well supported but the Juniors only had one entry. As the show was on the last weekend of the half term I was surprised. There are a lot of enthusiastic youngsters that come into the shop, I hope they may be encouraged to enter next year. http://ipmssalisbury.blogspot.com/
05 May 10. Exactly 1 month till the Salisbury IPMS show, I hope to see you there. The shop window has a distinctly Sci-Fi theme to its layout this month with the Revell AT AT of Starwars fame dominating the window. As well as showing of some of the kits available the smaller AMT AT AT also serves to show what can be done with the many scenic items we stock for all types of modelling. The snow effects were created with "Micro Balls" a resin bulking powder that makes effective fine snow when applied to the surface of a model. Also in snow is a 1/16 German soldier, this time the snow was made from wall filler.
